Mr. Kranstuber was appointed by the governor as the injured workers' representative to the Workers' Compensation Oversight Commission, where he served in 2005 and 2006. He has also served as a district Hearing Officer for the Ohio Industrial Commission, the state agency that handles the adjudication of contested matters in the workers' compensation system.
